Congratulations

Congratulations to you all my dears.  Well done for today and this year.  You made me very proud up on stage.

Now it’s time to start enjoying your holidays.  Remember to read everyday, and revise frequently so you do not forget all that you’ve learnt.  The blog will remain open all Summer in case you need anything.  Happy holidays.

Anyone who has photos of graduation and would like to pass them on to me or to share them on the blog (especially group photos for those parents who did not have a camera or where not there), please send them on this email address: stcathjunior1b@gmail.com

Thank you all for everything – for your lovely gifts, your kind thoughts and most of all your support throughout the year.  MS Cynthia

Recommended reading list

Today I gave you a list of books.  Some parents asked me about it and what it is for and which are the ideal books for your children.  Here are the answers.

The children are all at different stages of reading.  The first section (for Junior1-Junior2) are where most children are with their reading.  Short story books.  The second section (Junior 2-Junior 3), is for children leaving Junior 2, but I have to say that some of our children are able to read some of these books.  Most of the books in this section are chapter books, while others are longer stories.  Let the children guide you themselves.  Do not buy or give the children a book which is TOO easy for them as it demotivates them, likewise with a book which is TOO difficult.

I’ve posted the list again just in case you will need to access it again in the holidays.

Get together

Dear All,

Kyra’s mum asked me to post this for all your attention:

Hi

Some of the mummies came up with the idea to go swimming after the graduation.  For  those of you who are interested in joining some of the mummies together with the children, we are going for a half day starting at midday at Corinthia San Gorg after the Graduation.  Whoever is interested just get everything with you for the graudation and we will meet later at Corinthia.

By the way, this goes for you as well Ms Cythina and Ms Cristina .  You are more  than welcome to join us.

Hope to see a lot of you.

Marcelline (Kyra’s mum)

Summer revision packs

Please note that tomorrow I will be giving out the Summer revision packs.  These packs are to be revised on during the Summer months and not to be brought back to school.  Encourage your children to choose a page, read through the title to understand what needs to be done and let them tackle the page themselves.  Once ready, you can correct and if you find any mistakes, circle it for them and then let them try to work out what they did wrong.  This teaches the child to check their work and amend their own mistakes.

Let the children work out at leisure and not hurry the pack in one day as they will not get anything out of it otherwise.  As I always tell the children, encourage them to read a little bit every day.  Reading is VERY Important and helps them a lot in a variety of concepts.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and co-operation throughout the year.

Graduation

Dear Parents,

Time is approaching fast.  The students have been very busy preparing for Graduation.  Most of you have told me that they’ve heard their children sing the songs we’ve prepared.  In the next few days we will be preparing food for the ‘Graduation party’.  Hope to see you.

Date:  Tuesday 28th June

Time: 9.00 Assembly Hall

Invites:  Parents

Party: 10.00ish in class

On the day, the children come to school as usual (8.00), in their school uniform.  They do not need to bring with them any bags.  School finishes as usual (11.10).

See you all on Tuesday.
